Jennifer Lopez: The best is yet to come
Jennifer Lopez The 41-year-old singer admits she spent most of her 20s and 30s trying to keep everyone else happy. Now that she is older, Jennifer says she only cares about herself, her husband Marc Anthony and their two-year-old twins Max and Emme and can’t believe how much happier this has made her.
“In your 20s you’re in this crazy cloud of life and you don’t know what you’re doing. When you get into your 40s, you have more of a sense of yourself,” Jennifer explained.
“I’m pleasing myself and the people that are important to me, as opposed to trying to please the whole world and I feel the best is yet to come.”
Jennifer is currently working on new music and looking for new movie roles. She plans to continue acting and singing for the foreseeable future and doesn’t agree with people who say she should pick one profession and stick to it.
Although juggling two careers and her family life is challenging, Jennifer loves it and never seriously considers giving up singing or acting for good.
“It’s funny, I spoke to Penelope Cruz about whether I should choose movies or music,” Jennifer told the British edition of OK! magazine.
“She said, ‘No! You do the movies, you do the music – everybody loves that about you.’ I thought, you’re right, what am I thinking? It’s a lot to do both, it’s never been an easy road, but the truth is I never entertain that thought for more than two minutes.”
