Katy Perry has put her foot down and banned husband-to-be Russell Brand from naming their children after West Ham Football Club players.

The California Gurls singer can now breathe a sigh of relief that names like Julian Dicks, Paolo di Canio and Billy Bonds are all off the cards.

Katy, 25, told The Sun, "I've let him know under no circumstances are any of our kids going to be named after his favourite players."

But she has agreed to compromise and let Brand have a bit of West Ham memorabilia in their new home.

She added, "I was thinking maybe a West Ham jersey in his office and a set of West Ham mugs in the kitchen.

"I'll be too embarrassed to invite any neighbours around for drinks though, we'll be the only apartment to have a West Ham bathroom mat."

The couple, who are due to tie the knot later this year, are planning to buy a home in New York.
