Clothes company 'sue Madonna over Material Girl brand'
Madonna L.A. Triumph Inc. reportedly claims the music star has stolen the name of their clothing line and used it for her own junior fashion range.
According to a celebrity news blog, the company has filed a lawsuit against Madge and asked a judge to declare that the singer's Material Girl brand creates 'deception' in the marketplace.
L.A. Triumph, who claim they have been marketing Material Girl clothing since 1997, also apparently want Madonna to hand over all the profits she has made from her fashion range so far.
Madonna, 52, launched her Material Girl range of youngsters' clothing earlier this year.
The fashion range, which she collaborated on with 13-year-old daughter Lourdes, was named after her well known 1985 hit single.
The Material Girl line consists of footwear, handbags and accessories, including eighties-inspired ra-ra skirts, lace mini-dresses and sequined hot pants.
It has come under fire for its risqué style.
