Usher: I’m a super dad
Usher The 36-year-old R&B star has two children, Usher, two, and 20-month-old Naviyd, with his estranged wife Tameka Foster. He is currently working on a re-release of his comeback album Raymond v. Raymond, raising money for a series of charities, auditioning for movie roles and developing a new fragrance but says he still makes sure he is there to pick his children up and drop them off.
Usher admits his busy schedule means he sometimes has to go to superhuman lengths to ensure he spends quality time with the tots, jokingly comparing himself to Superman.
"If it's not philanthropy, it's music," told MTV News at a gala for his New Look Foundation, which just raised $150,000 for a mobile clinic in earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
"If it's not music, it's making sure I got the kids and dropping them off. I'm like super dad right now. The tour is the next step. May do a little acting. I'm definitely in the process of producing a few things, but it's staying busy. If it's not fragrance, then it's lifestyle. If it's cars - I mean owning, not just driving - it's a little bit of everything."
Usher also spoke about his recent collaboration with Jay-Z. The song, entitled Hot Tottie, will appear on the re-release of his latest album and Usher promises there are many more like it to come.
"In terms of 'Hot Tottie,' it's another incredible record that's gonna be part of the re-release of Raymond v. Raymond [called] Versus," he said. "There's a few more. You guys check it out. Videos, we're in the process of working on that as well."
