Madonna ‘hosts sombre party’
Madonna The singer turns one year older today. To celebrate the occasion, she hosted a private party at London’s exclusive Shoreditch House but stunned guests by reportedly refusing to let the club play loud music.
“There was barely any music or laughing coming from the party, it was like a wake,” an onlooker told British newspaper The Daily Mirror.
The funeral feel was enhanced by the dress code, which requested all partygoers don head-to-toe black.
Madonna arrived at the bash late, with her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes and boyfriend Jesus Luz. Once she was there, guests were served platters of quails’ eggs with caper mayonnaise, mini fishcakes, peppers and scallops and £50,000 of champagne and cocktails. Madonna was seen sneaking out of the party just before midnight.
“Madge was gone by midnight out the back door,” the source added. “It was a bit sad.”
