Bradley Cooper Wants Murder Mystery Role
Bradley Cooper wants to star in a remake of Murder, She Wrote.
The classic American television programme starred Angela Lansbury as writer and amateur sleuth Jessica Fletcher, with each episode following her as she solved a crime. Twelve seasons aired between 1984 and 1996, and it was one of the longest-running series on the CBS network.
Bradley is currently promoting his new movie The A-Team, which is based on the 80s television show. He plays Templeton ‘Face’ Peck, and has revealed he has his sights set on appearing in other movies which are inspired by television programmes.
“Nobody can re-create Angie’s performance but Murder, She Wrote had the best character on TV,” he told Cover Media. “I know her personally, it’s OK.”
The A-Team director Joe Carnahan gets annoyed when his movie is termed a “remake”, as he insists it stands in its own right. He revealed he has been asked to make big screen versions of lots of different shows, but this was among the few he was interested in.
“You know I don’t know, I keep hearing everyone saying it’s a remake of the A-Team but you really can’t remake a TV show. You can try to distil five years and 83 episodes into a two hour movie but I think it’s difficult,” he said. “They called me about The Equalizer and I thought, ‘You know, I’m good.’ I love The Six Million Dollar Man, I think that would be a great movie.”
Liam Neeson, who plays Hannibal Smith in The A-Team film, could barely contain his excitement at Jo’s revelation. “The Equalizer would be fantastic,” he said.
“Yeah? Well, they wanna do it man, let’s go,” Joe laughed.
