Eva Longoria-Parker Lands Avengers Role?

Eva Longoria-Parker has been linked to a role in the second Avengers movie.

The 35-year-old actress has reportedly discussed playing The Wasp with the film’s bosses, who believe she could be the perfect choice to play the “sexy” character. Eva has done several screen tests for the role, which is said to resemble her part in popular American television series Desperate Housewives.

"Marvel is in negotiations with Eva and she is just right for the role," a source told FOX411.com. "First, she read for the part, then she went into the studio for camera tests. The team liked her for The Wasp so much that she did green screen work in the late spring. She's perfect in size and attitude. Eva is cute, sexy and full of energy for the part. The character is a bit like Gabby, her character on Desperate Housewives."

Canadian-born actor Nathan Fillion has also been linked to the movie and is tipped to play Ant-Man – who is married to The Wasp. Film bosses are anticipating great chemistry between Nathan and Eva if they do work together.

"Nathan Fillion, a favourite of Joss Whedon, is set to play Ant-Man," the source added. "Ant-Man is married to The Wasp in the comics. They would be a dynamic duo - both are hilarious and together they will have great comedy and chemistry. It's a win-win if Eva can tie up the role.

"The movie is going to start filming this fall. There's a lot going on, and scheduling all these busy actors is a task, but so far it seems like everyone's schedule is coming together.

"Right now, Captain America: The First Avenger, starring Chris Evans, is shooting in England and it will pretty much be back to back films."

However, a representative for Marvel has dismissed the reports linking Eva and Nathan to the project.

Other stars who will appear in the first Avengers film include Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Rimmer and Mark Ruffalo.
