Dawn French To Divorce Lenny Henry
Dawn French The 52-year-old TV star split from the comedian, 51, four months ago after 25 years of marriage. Dawn has now filed divorce papers citing “irreconcilable differences”, but insists there is “no war” between her and Lenny.
In her first interview since the break-up, Dawn said she was surprised by how “amicable” the split had been, and discussed her newfound friendship with Lenny.
"Remarkably, we seem to have shifted with relative ease from a 25-year marriage to a lasting friendship,” she told Radio Times magazine.
"I am amazed by us - there is no war, we have turned out to be the best of friends."
Lenny and Dawn’s spokesman has confirmed divorce papers have been filed, and insisted the couple had come to an easy agreement over the division of their assets, rumoured to be worth £10million.
"The filing of the divorce papers is neither acrimonious nor unilateral. Both parties have agreed the terms without dispute," the representative told British newspaper The Sun.
Since the break-up, Dawn has been living in Cornwall, while Lenny has remained in the couple’s marital home in Berkshire. They are said to speak twice a day on the phone.
Dawn and Lenny have an 18-year-old daughter, Billie, together.
