Nicolas Cage: Awards Don’t Matter To Me
Nicolas Cage says he doesn’t care about Academy Awards.
The talented star won a much-coveted best actor Oscar after his lead role in the 1995 movie Leaving Las Vegas.
But nowadays Nicolas says he isn’t concerned about winning trophies for gritty dramas and would rather concentrate on making movies that an entire family can enjoy. He believes that is how actors can really have a positive influence on society.
“I’m not interested in winning Academy Awards, I’m interested in making movies that appeal to the whole family. It’s a way actors can actually contribute something good,” he told Total Film magazine.
Family man Nicolas is happily married to wife Alice Kim and the pair have a four-year-old son named Kal together.
The actor enjoys trips to the movies with Kal and Alice Kim because he thinks they bring a family closer together, and especially enjoys getting a tasty snack for during the performance. “I like movie going to become a family ritual. Go together, get the popcorn, enjoy the film together. It becomes a bond,” he revealed.
