Lindsay Lohan's Father Thinks Rehab Will Make No Difference
Lindsay Lohan Michael Lohan has warned the troubled star – who entered the Pickford Lofts sober living facility on Wednesday (14.07.10) – that while checking into the treatment centre may not be the right way to deal with her problems because he doesn’t think she will get the help he claims she needs.
Michael – who has previously made repeated accusations that his daughter is addicted to legal medications - told RadarOnline.com: “I’m happy that she’s taking positive steps, but a sober house is not a rehab and it does not detox someone off prescription drugs. It serves no purpose other than staying clean off non-prescription drugs and alcohol. In Lindsay’s case, the prescription drugs are the problem.”
The ‘Mean Girls’ actress is due to start a 90-day jail term next week for violating the terms of her probation from her 2007 case for driving under the influence (DUI).
While some have speculated this is a last-ditch attempt by the star to avoid prison, Michael, 50, admitted he hopes Judge Marsha Revel will let Lindsay get clean and sober before going behind bars.
He said: “She needs to appeal her case, buy some time and detox off prescription drugs. Even if she can’t avoid jail, at least she will do her time completely clean and in the right frame of mind.”
