Lindsay Lohan Terrified Of Being Alone
Lindsay Lohan The actress was sentenced to 90 days in prison and 90 days in rehab last week after she was found to have breached the terms of her probation. She had not been to enough of the alcohol education classes she was ordered to as part of her 2007 conviction for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Lindsay burst into tears when she heard she was going to be incarcerated, and her father Michael has since publicly spoken of his worry of how she will cope inside.
It has now been reported the 24-year-old is getting increasingly anxious as July 20, when she must start her term, approaches.
“Sources close to Lindsay tell us Lindsay is climbing the walls because of the prospect of jail. We're told she can't stand being confined to small spaces, and she can never be alone,” states gossip website TMZ.
The star is apparently so nervous of being on her own she has to have someone with her all the time – even asking friends to come with her on work assignments abroad so she isn’t alone on the plane.
Lindsay is expected to serve her time at the Century Regional Detention Facility, in Lynwood, California, where it has been claimed she will stay in a cell on her own.
Following her sentence, Lindsay’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley resigned reportedly after discovering the actress was looking for new representation. There have been several reports she already has a new lawyer, but it is thought that is not the case.
She met with legal professional Stuart V. Goldberg over the weekend, and he has spoken of his impressions of the star.
“My impression of Lindsay is that she's a fragile lost child – a sleeping beauty with her head in the sand. I found her not fully forewarned of the consequence of her actions,” he told People magazine.
“I'm concerned that she's not disciplined or tethered enough to the reality of adult consequences. She doesn't seem to have the awareness of what's going to befall her.”
He added Lindsay, her mother Dina and sister Ali “didn't seem to understand the urgency and gravity of the situation”. In the end, Stuart declined the case.
He added he became so worried about the star he asked if there was a possibility she might hurt herself. “She started sobbing quietly. She was genuinely in pain,” he said.
Describing how he suggested she should move away from Los Angeles, Stuart said: “She was like Teflon to that comment. It just slid right off her. She seemed to have some inner deep sadness that that was her fate.”
Lindsay is now understood to be considering hiring Robert Shapiro, who helped successfully defend O.J. Simpson when he was accused of killing his ex-wife and her boyfriend in 1994.
