Leighton Meester: Text Messaging Is My Obsession
Leighton Meester The 24-year-old Gossip Girl actress spends most of her free time typing messages on her mobile phone, confessing it is all she does in between shooting scenes for the hit US drama. Leighton says she is now “really good” at typing texts quickly, and often shocks her friends with the speed of her replies and use of sms lingo.
"I am very fast," she is quoted as saying. "That's mainly because I text so much. I am a text addict. It is often what I end up doing when I'm on set and have to be really quiet - I text.
“I have gotten really, really good and it is really sad! I use all those abbreviations too."
Leighton plays queen bee Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, which is about a group of wealthy New York high school students. Leighton and her co-star Blake Lively, who plays Upper East Side princess Serena van der Woodsen, have recently been filming dramatic scenes for an upcoming episode of the series in Paris, France.
