Musicrooms.net: Mika - Love Today Mika - Love Today ================================================================================ DanielBlack on 16 April, 2007 Label: Universal Written By: Daniel Black Rating: 8/10 After the colossal aftermath of ‘Grace Kelly’ by Mika, it was clear to see that it was going to take something special from the new pop sensation to live up to his debut’s stir. Personally I thought he was going to a James Blunt Job, that is, write an annoyingly addictive song…play it out and then follow it up with a flop. Thank goodness though Mika didn’t do that, he has followed his introduction with what I believe to be an equally addictive and captivating song… ‘Love Today’. It’s bursting with potential just like ‘Grace Kelly’. It’s unbelievably danceable. It’s also full of those shockingly high-pitched notes just like it’s predecessor and also like ‘Grace Kelly’, it’s as camp as a row of pink tents but somehow you can’t help loving it. I suppose Mika can’t help being camp when he’s been linked with Queen’s Freddie Mercury in one way or another. He’s got so much love to give or at least I counted so… he said ‘Love’ a massive 57 times in this song. Either way I Love this song and it’s my tip for the top when it’s released.
