Dave Gilmour has said that there are no plans for the group to perform at London 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony.

Pink Floyd star Dave Gilmour has once again denied the rumours that the band will be reforming to perform at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Rumours have once again been circulating that the original line up will be uniting on stage to perform along with the likes of Paul McCartney at the ceremony, which would be their first performance together since 2005’s Live 8 concert. The story also appeared in the London Evening Standard yesterday.

Gilmour’s representative has, however, contracted music magazine NME to say, “Dave Gilmour can confirm that there is no truth in the media speculation that Pink Floyd are re-uniting to perform for the 2012 London Olympics.”

The group briefly performed for Roger Waters’ The Wall concert at the O2 in May last year, but Gilmour then called the concert a one off occasion.
