The Rolling Stones pick up funeral tab for late Blues legend
Mick Jagger It appears that Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are feeling a little generous and have offered to pay for the funeral of blues legend Hubert Sumlin.
The guitarist died on Sunday at the age of 80 after suffering a heart attack.
Jagger was one of the first to pay tribute to the star, saying “Hubert was an incisive yet dedicated blues player. He was an inspiration.”
Richards played on Sumlin’s album Them Shoes, which was released in 2006, and Sumlin’s partner has revealed that the two rock legends will be picking up the expenses for the funeral.
Toni Ann posted on the net, “I just wanted to share with you, Hubert’s loving fans, that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have insisted they are picking up the full expenses for the funeral. God bless the Rolling Stones.”
A public service for the star takes place on Monday, while a private family ceremony will take place the next day in Illinois.
