Original Black Sabbath reform
Ozzy Osbourne The guys confirmed there will be an upcoming album; they made the announcement at the famous Whiskey a Go-Go club In Los Angeles and said producer Rick Rubin would be on board.
The Heavy Metal band first formed way back in 1968 in the Midlands, with larger-than-life rocker Ozzy as the front man but by 1979 he was asked to leave the band, after which he carved out a successful solo career for himself.
Bill Ward, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler continued rocking with a string of other vocalists but never quite managed to recapture the success they enjoyed whilst Ozzy was at the helm.
Osbourne was invited back by the band in 1997 and remained until 2006, during which time just two new tracks were released.
Although it’s early days yet, the guys have promised a massive 2012 tour, as well as headlining a night at Donington Parks Download festival in June next year.
Ozzy is philosophical about it though, “If it works out, it'll work out’ he explained, ‘If it doesn't, I'll keep doing my thing" he said.
