U2’s Bono has claimed that the band’s Glastonbury performance bombed because he was wearing the wrong shoes. Well that’s a new one.

Bono spoke to Q magazine about how the rain on the stage and his choice of footwear were the main reason why the show was not one of the groups’ most impressive.

“There were a couple of things,” he said. “There was a DJ under the stage playing the music between sets and he bumped our keyboard computer. So we lost all the keyboards. I walked out and realised the stage was like an ice rink and I was wearing the wrong shoes. I couldn’t move and was stuck to the spot.”

Not an excuse you hear everyday you have to admit.
