Green Day write Amy Winehouse tribute song
Green Day Amy Winehouse has had an emotional song written about her by Green Day.
The band wrote the ballad “Amy” after the tragic star was found dead in her home in July at just 27 years of age.
They performed the song at a recent gig in California and it went down a storm with many tears in the house.
Some of the lyric include: "Amy, is your heart singing out of tune/ Are your eyes just singing the blues/ Dirty records from another time/ Some blood stains on your shoes."
At the end of the track, the words say: "May I have this last dance/ By chance if we should meet/ Can you write me a lullaby/ So we can sing you to sleep."
It is not yet known if the band intend to release it as a single but it would be a sure-fire hit if they did with Amy having millions of fans around the world.
