Punk stars delight fans at last minute concert

Fans of punk rockers Green Day were given a real treat at their last minute concert when they performed their new album which many people thought they hadn’t completed yet.

The American stars announced the surprise concert in Costa Mesa, California at the last opportunity and the fans who flocked to see them heard 15 new songs.

They only recently announced they were back in the studio working on the follow up to their 2009 album 21st Century Breakdown so it came as a huge surprise to their fans when they blasted out a string of new material.

New tracks such as Nuclear Family, Carpe Diem and 8th Avenue Serenade were performed for the first time.

It is not yet known if those three songs will appear in the final version of the album.
