Rolling Stones star Chuck Leavell believes the band have stayed together for so long because of the animosity between Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

Chuck says the band could have split up many times over the years but the problems between Mick and Keith provided a healthy tension.

It has been known both Mick and Keith clashed over many things during their career as one of the world’s greatest rock bands.

Chuck said if it was all flowers and kisses between the band then they would not have last for so long.

However, It is feared the bands tour due later this year has been put in jeopardy as Mick was angry with Keith for comments he made during promotions for his book about the alleged size of his manhood.

Mick was happy enough with the book, which he read before publication, but it was comments he made while on a promotional tour.

The band were set to tour this year but it is now looking increasingly unlikely. And organisers , for the 2012 London Olympics are watching developments closely as they want the Stones to perform at the opening ceremony.

Mick, 67, has described Keith’s comments as tedious and accused his bandmate of raking up the past for the money.
