10th October has been announced by Ryan Adams as the release date for his new album, Ashes and Fire.

The singer recorded the album in LA over last few months under the production eye of Glyn Johns, who is best known for his work with The Beatles, The Clash, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, and whose son Ethan has been responsible for three of Adams’ previous albums.

Early reviews have been more than complimentary to the new material, with many citing it as his most cohesive works in a highly praised career. Swinging form country rock, to piano based laments, to acoustic harmonies, Adams has packed the album with something for everyone, while still staying true to his trademark sound.

Adams recently played a short series of acoustic concerts in the UK and is preparing to announce a longer tour in the near future.
