Slash begins work on second solo album
Slash The Beautiful Dangerous rocker took to microblogging website Twitter this morning to write that he has begun production on the follow-up to his first album, Slash, from last year after returning to Los Angeles following a gig in Serbia last weekend.
The 46-year-old wrote: “Started 2nd round of pre prod today. It’s going to be a rockin’ fn’ record! Iii|; )(sic)”.
The London-born musician had earlier provided details of his voyage home to the USA, when writing: “Left Serbia 8am, just arrived in LA, 10:30pm. Delays, broken toilets, u name it. Gotta love Delta.”
Two days before, Slash – real name Saul Hudson – tweeted about his plans to begin work on his latest album, writing: “We’ve put together some killer material for new record. Will keep u posted! ii|; ) (sic).”
The ex-Guns ’N’ Roses member employed a stellar line-up of singers for his debut album, including the likes of Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne, Adam Levigne, Chris Cornell and Fergie, but this time will only work with Myles Kennedy – who provides vocals for his live gigs.
Slash had previously said that “Myles and I have been writing all throughout the tour, so we’ve got a lot of material (and) we’re starting pre-production in June and (will) then do the tour in July”.
The rock legend added that “in September we’re going to do more pre-production and the album is slated to come out in March or April (of next year)”.
However, it has not been confirmed who will produce Slash’s album or even where it will be recorded.
