Meat Loaf carries on concert after collapsing on stage
Meat Loaf Thousands of terrified fans saw the 63-year-old Bat Out of Hell singer collapse in the middle of his number one hit I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That).
The veteran rocker fainted and, after 10 minutes of lying on the floor surrounded by aides, dusted himself off and finished the show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He made light of the incident before performing classic tune Paradise by the Dashboard Light, saying: "I f****** fainted. I have asthma, I can't breathe, and then.
"Oh wait, I forgot. I got poked by a pin and bled half to death, and then I got slapped in the face and my tooth is loose."
He then went on to finish his marathon concert at the Pittsburgh Trib Amphitheatre, which also featured hits such as Dead Ringer For Love and Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad.
His publicist Maureen O’Connor said: "He hadn't been feeling well the past few days as his asthma had been bothering him.
"He fainted onstage and got back up and did the rest of the show. We're happy he's ok."
Meat Loaf was later forced to cancel an appearance at a Cincinnati Reds stadium tonight so he could recover from his ordeal.
It is not the first time the star has collapsed on stage. In 2003, he fainted on stage in Wembley, London.
He was immediately rushed to hospital for emergency surgery to correct the potentially fatal Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a condition that causes an irregular heart beat.
