The Rolling Stones’ guitarist used to live in the country and was a huge fan of the reggae scene. He also appreciated the different styles of music that the island is known for, and was amazed by how prevalent funky tunes were there.

“The people’s love of music is more obvious there; wherever you went, music would follow you,” he told Q.

One of Keith’s favourite albums is the Jimmy Cliff classic The Harder They Come. The record is the soundtrack to the crime drama of the same name which stars Jimmy as a reggae singer named Ivanhoe Martin.

“I happened to be in Jamaica when the movie came out, and it really reminded me a lot of those days,” he added. “There was an incredible feeling there at the time because their music was coming to fruition. There are a lot of different styles on The Harder They Come and it just captures why I love Jamaica.”

Rumours are circulating that Keith’s next project is not with a reggae star but with former US president Bill Clinton. Keith wouldn’t reveal any details about his dinner meeting with the former president and said recently: “Unfortunately, it's under wraps - we talked about saxophones."
