Green Day played an hour long set following the final performance of their Broadway musical 'American Idiot' Sunday night (April 24th).

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong - who had returned to the musical in order to play 'St.Jimmy' for the final three weeks of the run - was joined by his band mates for a 10-song set at the St James Theatre on Broadway.

As well as playing big hits including 'Welcome To Paradise', 'Holiday', 'Burnout' and 'Letterbomb', Green Day also included two covers in their set - 'Walking Out On Love' by The Nerves and the theme song from the cartoon version of Spider-Man.

Armstrong told the crowd: "Ladies and gentlemen this isn’t a fucking party, this is a fucking celebration!"

Referring to the stage set, the front man added: "I never thought I’d see my bedroom on a Broadway stage."

American Idiot the musical ran for a total of 421 performances at St James Theatre.

The show recently announced it's closure when ticket sales declined after Billie Joe Armstrong quit his role in the cast in February.
