The annual heavy metal awards ceremony announces nominees for this year's event.

The nominees for the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2011 have been revealed. The awards ceremony is now in its ninth year and will take place on Monday June 13th. Metal fans can vote on each category on the Metal Hammer website.

Last year’s winners include Zakk Wylde who won the ‘Golden God’ award, American metallers Lamb of God picked up ‘Best International Band’ and Bullet For My Valentine won ‘Best UK Band’.

The nominees for the 2011 Golden Gods are:

Best International Band: Avenged Sevenfold, Dimmu Borgir, Stone Sour, Children Of Bodom, Down
Best UK Band sponsored by Roadrunner: Iron Maiden, Bring Me The Horizon, Skindred, Architects, Bullet For My Valentine
Best Live Band: Cancer Bats, Devildriver, Rob Zombie, Skindred, Machine Head
Best New Band: The Defiled, Kvelertak, Tesseract, The Damned Things, Letlive
Best Underground: Watain, Kylesa, Primordial, The Dead Lay Waiting, Clutch
Best Breakthrough: Parkway Drive, A Day To Remember, Sylosis, Sabaton, Volbeat
