Just when we thought we’d got rid of the talent show artists, along comes Gareth Gates. He has seized a gap in the market for a manufactured singer and jumped at it.

His comeback release is, to be honest, not so bad. ‘Angel On My Soldier’ is a heavenly release from the solo sensation. It could be the platform for a great re-generation of his career. It’s romantic, it’s slow, it’s memorable and it’s a typical Gareth Gates track; what more can I say? This is the revival of Gareth Gates.
