A look at some of the most anticipated album releases in 2010.

The year 2010 promises to be an exciting year for the music scene with a huge list of albums planned to be released by some of the best in the industry including a number of comeback announcements.

Usher is set to release his new album on the 1st of March whilst Christina Augilera goes Bionic two days later. And remember the guys who bought you HipHop Police, Chamillionaire are back with their new album on the 16th March titled Venom.

Nelly Furtado and Britney Spears are expected to release their newest albums during the month of May. This will be Nelly Furtado's fourth English language studio album. Other divas joining the party in 2010 include Kelly Clarkson, Madonna, Natasha Beddingfield, Jessica Simpson and Amy MacDonald. The Sugababes will also join the party in the month of March with their rival group Girls Aloud are also set to break in to the scene later in the year.

NuMetal sensations Linkin Park are set to release their follow-up after Minutes to Midnight during the first half of 2010. Heavy Metal giants Iron Maiden are set to thump out the metal in you together with Korn. Godsmack are also scheduled to contribute their share of fire-power in 2010. Alternative music has more of it's share of releases when Maroon 5, Jimmy Eat World, Kings of Leon, Meat Loaf are also set to roll.

The homies are in for a real treat if and when Dr. Dre releases his much anticipated yet postponed release of the new album Detox. Not to be outdone, Tupac's new album is scheduled to be released on June16th, titled Shakrusphere. Mr. Real Slim Shady is set to drop Relapse 2 during the month of June together with a planned J Lo album release. Release dates for both are not affirmed though, to date. So it's going to be a keen tussle between Dre, Tupac and Eminem for the honours of the best rap album (and may be to a lesser extent Diddy as he is also set to invade the scene).

In one of the most surprising album announcements, Fred Durst has revealed that Limp Bizkit will release a comeback album after the band split up years ago. The same applies to the planned album releases of Hanson and Aaron Carter. And the Bon-Bon man will also be back  when Ricky Martin is expected to shake his bon-bon sometime during 2010.

So, the year 2010 is going to be a year to look forward to no matter what genre of music you are into. And the beat will always go on as long as you keep your ears plugged.

Note that these dates are subject to change, it's best to refer to the respective artist's official website for up-to date information.
