Is Lady Gaga really worth the hype?

Lady GaGa was signed up by the CEO of Island Def Jam records after he heard her singing down the hallway but 3 months later the deal was off. However, Gaga was lucky enough to be introduced to the producer RedOne. From there onwards it has been a roller-coaster ride for Lady Gaga with definitely more ups than downs.

Lady Gaga introduced an exclusive touch to pop music but it's just hard to explain what it is. Yet, you know it is something punchy and catchy - somewhat similar to Euro Pop but not exactly. Critics have gone on to compare Lady Gaga with Madonna, Gwen Stefani and the like but may be it's a little too early to do that. However, the approach to music by Lady Gaga is nothing short of spectacular. She boasts successfully for the most innovative stage performances and settings seen in the last few years - be it at a concert or an awards night appearance. Her lyrics are repetitive but addictive, her clothes are weird but tempting and her performances are costly but worth watching.

The fashion on display and the thought process put in to her showmanship is breathtaking. Gaga herself admits that she thinks about the clothes to wear when performing a song as early as when she begins to write a song. That shows the concern she has to deliver the complete package - not just the vocals.

To round off, Gaga is HUGE - two US number ones and three UK number ones already. She is controversial, brilliant, hard to decipher, creative and pleasantly weird - and sometimes makes you wonder, if only she had a "moon-walk". Maybe someday...

I think he means the cost to put on the shows not on how much the pubic are charged.

Costly shows? In West Lafayette, 3000 (half) of the tickets went on sale to students at $36 each. The next day, the general public could get seats at that price plus the expensive "hot" and VIP packages. Most seats were very reasonably priced and the venue is great - all seats are good with excellent acoustics. (The VIP package is pricy, but includes meeting her with a photo op, the deluxe cd and her new Dr. Dre Beats ear buds.) Her New Year's Eve Show was pricy, and I'm glad she can make some money somewhere. She's got to pay the bills somehow, yet she also offers a lot of reasonably priced tickets.
