Kylie Minogue Gets OBE
Kylie Minogue has been given an OBE in the New Year's Honours list for her services to music.
It caps off a triumphant year for the Australian singer, in which she has made a successful live and recording comeback after her treatment for cancer.
In a statement, Minogue said she was "almost as surprised as I am honoured."
She added: "I feel deeply touched to be acknowledged by the UK, my adopted home, in this way.
"This last year I have felt so much love and support from everyone as I took greater steps back in to the public domain, and it is with absolute gratitude and joy that I say farewell to 2007 and look forward to what the New Year will bring."
Kylie starts a mammoth 6-week tour in the UK in Belfast on June 26.
