Amy Winehouse Suppliers Sentenced
The couple who offered drugs to Amy Winehouse, and who filmed and sold footage of her apparently smoking a crack pipe in January this year, have been sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
John Blagrove, of Dalston, East London was sentenced to two years in prison, whilst his partner in crime Cara Burton received a two year community order. As previously reported, Blagrove admitted to offering to supply Class A drugs cocaine and ecstasy and Class B drug amphetamine, while Burton pleaded guilty to two counts of offering to supply amphetamine. As you'll remember, the couple's then home was raided after the footage they sold to The Sun for £50k became public and police seized filming equipment as well as a so-called 'hit-list' of celebrities the pair were planning to target.
Judge Tudor Owen made it clear that it was the drugs offences that Blagrove was being jailed for, not the filming of the footage, of which he said: "A more public-spirited person would have handed it to the police, rather than making money from it. But it would be quite wrong to punish him for that".
