Katy Perry is sick of being the “fruity pin-up girl”.

The singer is currently working on her new album, which is slated for release later this year. She thinks her fans will be surprised when they hear her latest offering, as the songs are drastically different from those featured on her 2008 record One of the Boys.

Katy is tired of her image, and is keen to move forward. “I want to evolve like Madonna. If I had to be the fruity pinup girl another day, I would jump off the Hollywood sign,” she explained.

Her latest offering is still pop-inspired, and sees her working with producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin again.

Katy got engaged to British comedian Russell Brand on New Year’s Eve, and admits their relationship has had a dramatic effect of her song writing too. She has been expressing her feelings for her beau via her music, with 50% of the tracks on the album love songs.

“It’s also about my faith, my conviction and awe of the supernatural world,” she explained.
