Amy Winehouse Paid £70,000 For 10 Nights At A London Hotel
The 26-year-old singer has been staying at luxury hotel The Langham while she waits for the purchase of her new home in Camden to be finalised.
Instead of hiring a standard room, Amy has been splashing out on a multi-bedroom suite at a cost of £7,000 a night.
“Amy’s waiting to get the go-ahead on her new Camden home, the mortgage agreements and surveys haven’t been finalised so she’s staying in a hotel in the interim,” a source told British newspaper The Daily Star. “She has lavish tastes and is hiring a superior two bedroom suite for herself and her security team.
“The suite is decked out with flashy furniture, a four-poster bed, two dressing rooms, a lobby with cloakroom and a magnificent infinity bath.”
Amy has also rented a smaller suite for her friends to stay in so she doesn’t get lonely living in a hotel. This is said to be costing her an additional £1,250 per night, without factoring in the cost of expensive cocktails and room service.
“Amy’s been paying for her friends to stay over in the hotel, ordering a junior suite for them at £1,250 a pop,” the source added. “She hates being alone so invited friends to come and keep her company, ordering endless stuff from the room service menu including drinks from the posh cocktail bar, which specialises in rum-based cocktails.”
Meanwhile, Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is reportedly insisting she goes to rehab for her alcohol problems before he will consider re-marrying. The couple divorced last year but have since rekindled their romance and are desperate to wed again. Blake completed his most recent stint in a treatment facility last month and thinks Amy should also receive help before they start a new life together.
"Amy is always telling Blake she wants to get married again but he's saying not until she cleans up her act,” a source said.
Amy has already completed a treatment program for her substance abuse problems.
