Jedward Miss Out On Number One Spot

Jedward failed to wrestle out Owl City's internet sensation who have been sitting on to the top spot for a third week.

The song 'Fireflies' remained at number one despite the combined efforts of X Factor twins John and Edward Grimes and 1990s rapper Vanilla Ice, who came together for a reworking of the Queen hit 'Under Pressure'.

The Albums Chart

Over in the album charts Alicia Keys rose one place to the top, with instrumentalist Andre Rieu surpassing Nigel Kennedy to become the highest ranked classical violinist in the index ever.

Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin' saw its double appearance in the top ten singles chart continue.

Their original version fell one place to nine, while a cover by the cast of hit US series Glee slipped to four.

Timbaland's 'If We Ever Meet Again', featuring Katy Perry, rose 14 places to number three.

R'n'B songstress Alicia Keys saw her album 'The Element of Freedom' rise one place to take the top spot. Similarly her 'Empire State of Mind (Part II)' climbed the singles index, reaching number five.

Waltzing Dutchman Andre Rieu rose two places with the album 'Forever Vienna'. It makes it the highest charting classical album this century.

Speaking of his success, the 60-year-old violinist, said: "The waltz encapsulates all emotions in life, and this is why people love it. This UK 'pop' chart position is proof of that, so of course I am thrilled."
