BRIT Awards Control, Lily Allen Is Ready To Land

Lily Allen is to arrive on stage at the BRIT Awards in a plane.

The singer is nominated for three of the prestigious prizes, and is determined to make her performance at the ceremony extra special. She doesn’t want any other artist to outdo her, and is said to have asked organisers if she can fly through the auditorium in a replica jet.

“Everyone has had to submit set designs this week so the organisers could see how the show was going to work. This year the bar has seriously been lifted. There are some amazing special effects with pyrotechnics and new technology being introduced,” a source explained. “Lady GaGa is usually the one with the flamboyant plans so everyone was braced for some outrageous feat with Beyoncé Knowles. But this time it was Lily who had the grand designs. She wants it to involve flying. At the moment the idea is to arrive on the stage in a model of an aeroplane.”

Last year, Lily announced she was taking a break from the music industry to concentrate on her relationship with builder Sam Cooper. She also said she was opening a shop, and revealed plans to move away from London to the countryside.

It is thought her turn on the BRITS stage could be her last big performance for the foreseeable future, which is why she is keen to make it a show-stopper.

“It's all still work in progress at the moment but they are doing everything they can to make it work. It's going to be magnificent - and cost a fortune. It looks like it will be Lily's last music awards show for a long time so it'll be worth it,” the source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror.

The upcoming show is the 30th anniversary of the awards. It will take place in London’s Earls Court Arena on Tuesday February 16, with British royal Prince Harry set to give a speech praising it.
