Amy Winehouse Wants To Cover Ex-Husband's Tattoo

Amy Winehouse is planning to cover her tattoo of her ex-husband’s name with a new inking.

The singer has the word “Blake’s” and a pocket design etched above her heart in honour of Blake Fielder-Civil, who she married in 2007. The pair divorced last July after Amy was accused of cheating on Blake, and the star’s tattoo artist Henry Hate says she has been discussing her plans to get rid of her romantic body art ever since.

“I wouldn't say she's flippant about it but she was the one that brought up the issue of the tattoo and I didn't ask her what her reasons were,” Hate said. “I imagined they're the obvious reasons, that she wanted some sort of closure and to move on. She was just like 'It needs to go'.”

Amy had the tattoo done in 2005, just one month after she started dating Blake. Hate says she is now planning to cover the design with a leopard, a lioness or a dove. He claims he has been working with the star to come up with the perfect design for months, despite persistent rumours Amy and Blake are planning to remarry.

“She is thinking of covering it with a stole, the ideas were swimming in her head so I drew some sketches for her to have a look at,” Hate said. “She wanted it covered but I said it would take time because of the technicalities of covering something like that, with any lettering or words.

"She didn't want a flower, she was adamant about that. She wanted something that would take it away and then maybe bleed into a shawl and wrap around her shoulders. That was her suggestion.”

Hate estimated it would take 12 to 13 hours to complete Amy’s new inking, but added he is not sure when she will come into his London tattoo parlour Prick to start the design.

"She's better now,” he told British newspaper the Evening Standard. “When she comes in I normally get a text message from her. Or she comes in when the clients align together perfectly and I just happen to be free. Or she'll let me know 'I'm coming, can you fit me in today?' She's a very genuine person and she's a lovely girl. I don't have a bad word to say about her."
