Robbie Williams will reunite with his Take That bandmates on a charity single to help survivors of the Haiti earthquake.

Robbie says he is “honoured” to be appearing on the track which is being put together by Simon Cowell. It will be the first time Robbie’s vocals have been teamed with Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald since he left the group in 1996. Take That are due to record their lines in Los Angeles today and Robbie is hoping to join them in the studio. If they can’t sing at the same time, their voices will be mixed together this week.

"I'm very honoured to be asked to contribute to the single,” Robbie told British newspaper The Sun. "We can all do something to help the people of Haiti - and I urge everyone to do what they can."

Kylie Minogue has also joined the star-studded list of singers contributing to the track, which will be a cover of REM’s sombre ballad Everybody Hurts.

Leona Lewis, James Blunt, Cheryl Cole and JLS have already laid down their vocals. Leona has revealed she is desperate to visit Haiti after the devastating earthquake killed more than 150,000 people and left millions homeless. However, she is pleased she can help aid efforts by singing. "I want to go over there so badly,” the 24-year-old star said. “But I think the best way to help is by doing things like this."

Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, Susan Boyle, Rod Stewart, Mika, James Morrison, Alexandra Burke and Miley Cyrus will also appear on the single.

Simon is keen to get the single released as quickly as possible, so producer Steve Robson is using cutting-edge techniques to mix it so the artists don’t need to record it together.

Proceeds from the single will go to the Helping Haiti fund and the Disasters Emergency Committee.
The track is due to be released on February 7.
