Guest Judges X Factor 2010
Dannii Minogue Guest judge Gerri Halliwell was the first to sit in for Dannii starting the auditions at Glasgow in early June. Geri has had a similar role when she sat on the panel for Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and was responsible for putting Cheryl through to the final rounds before she teamed up with Girls Aloud.
Natalie Imbruglia was the next judge to stand in for her long term friend Dannii at the Birmingham auditions. Natalie has been on stage since she was 5 years old, so knew what to look for while searching for the X Factor. The Australian performer said: “I agreed and disagreed with all of them at one point.” It will be interesting to see if Natalie had similar tastes to her old friend Danni when putting the contestants through. Those looking at X Factor Betting will be keen to see how she goes about things, that’s for sure.
In Dublin the judges were joined by hit singer Katy Perry. Even though she has only been in the public eye for 2-3 years she has been in the entertainment industry for a lot longer and brings a sexy American flair to the judging panel. Katy said before she started the Dublin auditions that she was not going to be a “sugar-coated judge”. Will Katy rival Simon for the harsh, honest opinions?
In Cardiff pop princess Pixie Lott took to the panel. She will be the youngest judge to sit in for Dannii. Pixie is used to performing to the public so she knows the current market which the next X Factor winner will be trying to succeed in, but is she too in-experienced to recognise true talent?
The last judge to sit on the panel was Pussy Cat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger at the Manchester auditions. Nicole will have empathy for the contestants as she had a similar rise to the top. She followed her dream and drove 12 hours, waited until 4am to perform in front of judges on American show Popstars in 2001. Will this empathy have fogged her judgement in helping to put through acts?
We can’t wait to find out the answer to all these questions and start to place a bet on X Factor topics! Bring on the new series!
