Only a week after Whitney Houston was admitted to hospital in Paris, the singer's world tour continues to be plagued by problems.

After cancelling the first three shows of the UK leg of her concert tour due to illness, Houston took to the stage in Birmingham, only to battle technical problems and a wardrobe malfunction, The Sun reports.

Houston warned the audience: "Tonight I want you to enjoy yourselves. Have a good look. If you want to sing with me please be in the right key. I've seen X Factor".

But the 46-year-old reportedly failed to hit some of the famed high notes in her classics before disappearing off stage only 20 minutes into the show, leading to audience members booing and jeering.

The singer returned and apologised: "I heard you get mad. You're a little pissed off. I understand. I humble myself and thank you for being so good over the years. Well, I'm here now and have even changed my clothes."
