The Irish boyband reunited in 2007, after seven years apart.

Their comeback album was a hit, but Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch no longer care about how many fans they have. Instead, the group are more concerned about their love for each other, especially after their bandmate Stephen Gately died last year.

“What we realised when we reunited was that those who we thought were friends weren’t – they didn’t call you when you weren’t working,” Mikey said. “These days we don’t get as close to people and we don’t need to feel as loved by everyone as we did.

“Coming back together after so long apart also made us realise how much we meant to each other, even more so after losing Stephen.”

Mikey says the group are still struggling with the loss of Stephen, who died of acute pulmonary oedema, a rapid build-up of fluid in the lungs, in Majorca last October. The singers just can’t understand why Stephen was taken away aged just 33.

“His death made me appreciate the fragility of life,” Mikey told the British edition of OK! magazine. “He was happy in life, that wasn’t meant to be our story. You get a reality check. We should be rejoicing in the nice things in life and not focusing on the negativity but it was a dreadful time and we’re still trying to get over it.”
