Jennifer Hudson to make Grammys tribute to Whitney Houston
Jennifer Hudson Following the death of Whitney Houston, it has been announced that Jennifer Hudson will perform a tribute to the star at tonight’s Grammy Awards.
Awards Exec producer Ken Erhlic has revealed that the Oscar-winner will make a “respectful musical tribute” to the six time Grammy winner.
Talking to the LA Times, Erhlic said, “It's too fresh in everyone's memory to do more a this time, but we would be remiss if we didn't recognise Whitney's remarkable contribution to music fans in general and in particular her close ties with the Grammy telecast and her Grammy wins and nominations over the years."
He went on to comment on the decline of Houston’s voice over the years, and revealed it had been hard to watch.
“It's hard to think of an artist who had such an incredible instrument, not to mention beauty, which made her difficulties in recent years even harder to accept."
The awards show takes place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles tonight.
