Lana Del Rey has fastest selling album of the year

Lana Del Rey The singer's Born To Die shifts over 117,000 copies in its first week in the UK.
There is a chance that you haven’t heard of Lana Del Rey, but you soon will.
As well as topping the charts with her album Born To Die, she also has the fasted selling album of the year so far.
Yes OK, granted we are only in February, but the album managed to sell more copies last week than the rest of the Top 5 put together – which includes the mighty Adele.
The singer adds to that achievement being the first person of the year to shift 100,000 copies of an album, with over 117,000 being sold in the first week of release, even though it received a number of critical, tear-down reviews in the media.
It seems that the public gets what the public wants, even if the mighty media don’t think they should.
