Christina Aguilera performed At Last at Etta James' funeral on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Hundreds of mourners attended to pay respects to the singer who died on January 20 aged 73, after battling Leukaemia over the past two years.

Christina Aguilera said: "It's very emotional for me to sing today, as this has meant so much to me. All my life, I've aspired to sing like Etta James, to be like her, of all the singers I've ever heard, she was the one who cut right to my soul."

Stevie Wonder performed three songs including Shelter From The Rain.

In his eulogy, Rev Al Sharpton described James as "a bridge of American culture that changed the culture of the world."

Rev Sharpton also read a statement from US President Barack Obama who said: "Etta will be remembered for her legendary voice and her contributions to our nation's musical heritage."
