Matt Cardle stripping back for next album
Matt Cardle may not have set the music world alight with his debut album, but the X Factor winner is already working on his follow up and has revealed it will be a bit more stripped back.
The singer said that he plans to take more of a role in the production of the new LP, as he was not happy with the feel of his debut album, which failed to receive much more than a few so-so reviews.
Talking to Digital Spy, Cardle said, “I'm in the studio at the moment and I write all the time. I do it because sometimes you just don't get the opportunity to perform as much as you want to and so I have my studio at home that I'm always in."
"For the next record I want to change it up and strip it back a little bit. It may not be as produced as some of the tracks on Letters and just a bit more honest."
His new single, Amazing, will be out as part of a four-track EP available to download from 19th February.
Despite the problems faced with his debut, the singer topped the Guardian’s Best Music of 2011 poll.
