Ed Sheeran and Example have recorded a special track after both being nominated for Best Single at this year's Brit Awards.

The pair are good mates after Sheeran supported Example on tour and met up in Los Angeles to record the track.

Ed Sheeran told Capital FM: "We've just done a song together so we were talking about shooting a video for that."

And Sheeran was pleased Example joined him in this year's Brit nominations and said that British acts are as strong as ever.

"We texted each other about the nominations which was nice – he's got a 'Best British Single' nomination as well which is good. There's not really much competition. It's like one big British movement moving forward."

Sheeran has also been nominated for Best British Album, Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Male Artist.

The singer is working on a new EP with his first new songs since his chart-topping debut album + and revealed the new tracks would include a special duet with 'a favourite artist', but didn't reveal who.
