Kylie Minogue's 2001 dancefloor hit 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' has been named the new century's most-played track in a new radio poll by the Performing Right Society For Music.

The song originally offered to singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor - who famously rejected it - has beat the likes of Britney Spears and Robbie Williams to be crowned the most popular single in the UK.

PRS officials discovered that the top five songs, which also include Jamelia's Superstar and Just a Little by Liberty X, were played on radio stations over 875 million times between 2000 and 2010.

The top 5 songs of the Noughties according to PRS:

1 Can't Get You Out of My Head – Kylie Minogue (Cathy Dennis, Robert Davis)

2 Toxic - Britney Spears (Cathy Dennis, Henrik Jonback, Pontus Winnberg, Christian Karlsson)

3 Angels - Robbie Williams (Robert Williams, Guy Chambers)

4 Superstar – Jamelia (Mikkel Sigvardt, Mich Hansen, Joseph Belmaati)

5 Just A Little - Liberty X (John Hammond, George Hammond, Michelle Escoffery)
