Little Mix topped the singles chart exactly one week after winning the X Factor final.

The Official Charts Company reported that their version pf Cannonball sold over 200,000 copies in its first week, the biggest first week sales for a single this year.

The original version by Damien Rice was released in 2003 reaching 32, but was re-released the following year peaking at 19. The track returned to the charts in October this year after being featured on The X Factor and has reappeared again this week at 19.

Little Mix are the first group to win The X Factor, with all four members entering the contest as solo singers. Members of One Direction also entered the competition as solo singers, but finished third behind Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle last year. The boyband topped the singles chart back in September with What Makes You Beautiful.

In this week's chart, Paradise by Coldplay climbs from seventh to second spot, while last week's number one, Dance With Me Tonight by Olly Murs, drops to third.

Dedication To My Ex (Miss That) by Lloyd featuring Andre 3000 / Lil Wayne is in fourth spot, with Rihanna's We Found Love at five, Flo Rida's Good Feeling at six and Avicii's Levels at seven.

Leona Lewis is this week's highest new entry in eighth spot with her cover of Nine Inch Nail's Hurt, which was also covered by Johnny Cash in 2003.
