Billie Jo Spears The singer famed for her song Blanket on The Ground died at home on Wednesday.
Country singer Billie-Jo Spears, best known for her hit Blanket on The Ground has died at the age of 74.
The singer had a total of twenty five Top 40 hits in her career between 1969 and 1984, and was best known for her sultry voice, and although her popularity began to fall off in the mid-eighties, the singer continued touring for a number years, even following a triple heart bypass in 1993.
The Texan born singer was set to make appearances in the UK in May as part of the Ladies of Country tour.
She died at home in Vidor, Texas on Wednesday.
