Justin Timberlake announces MySpace relaunch
Justin Timberlake Justin Timberlake has announced plans to relaunch MySpace in 2012.
The Social Network star bought a share in the company earlier this year when Rupert Murdoch's NewsCorp sold it to US advertising giants Specific Media for $35 million.
Myspace shed billions of dollars from its original price tag since it was dethroned as the dominant social network back in 2008.
Timberlake, who now has his own MySpace office, recently spoke to the Metro about the project and said, "I look at MySpace as not just technological exploration and a social networking place.
"It will be an entertainment hub. People will go there to explore their artistic side and we will give them tools to do that."
The website has been overtaken in popularity by Facebook and Twitter but the actor-and-singer wants to help turn it around with more of a focus on music.
Timberlake added: "We are relaunching next year and I would rather not say anything about it. But it's very exciting."
