Kylie Minogue To Replace Danniii On X Factor
Kylie Minogue Dannii, 38, is currently pregnant with her first child with rugby player Kris Smith and wants the child to be born in her native Australia. Dannii is due to give birth in June which clashes with the live audition weeks of the hit reality show, and she was concerned she would have to give up her seat on the judging panel for good.
“When the live auditions will be happening I will be in Australia giving birth, so I'm not being able to do that, unfortunately,” Dannii explained. “I'm sure they will cope without me for a while.”
Fortunately, her older sister Kylie has come to the rescue, offering to fill in for Dannii until her baby is old enough to travel. Show sources say Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh will retain their permanent places on the panel, and will be joined by a series of guest judges, including Kylie.
“There will be American Idol-style guest judges to fill her vacant seat, one of whom will be Kylie,” an insider told British newspaper The Daily Star. “Once Dannii has had her baby she will come back to the show for judging the final stages of the contest. And she will be back for the live shows.”
Dannii’s spokesman confirmed: “Dannii has absolutely not quit The X Factor. She will still be a part of the show when it returns later this year.”
In the meantime, Dannii has plenty of projects to keep Kylie busy. She has asked her superstar sibling to help her make her own baby clothes for the new arrival, but Kylie isn’t very enthusiastic.
“I want her to learn to knit so she can make lots of clothes, but she’s not keen on the idea,” Dannii laughed.
